These books will be used to foster a love of reading in my students. In the wake of an increasingly digital era, physical copies of books are too often switched out for e-books and kindle versions. Books as a past-time are replaced by hours of screen-time on phones and other digital devices. I wish for my students to retain their love of literature as they grow up in a technologically-driven world. In the classroom, I want the library to be an escape where students can go if they need solace from the outside world and immerse themselves in adventure. Within this print-filled space, students will be able to choose from a variety of books to suit all their interests. I just want them to be exposed to a diverse range of books they love! I have observed the types of books they read and taken note so that I can add them to this list and SURPRISE them with the books they've been begging me for this entire school year. I can't wait to see their smiles light up their faces!
