Having incentives and visual cues will allow students to take charge of their communication skills.. During work times, they often have difficulty attending to task and participating fully. While being in distance education, many of these students were not practicing good speech production and communication skills. These tools will help master standard 1.PCE.K.1 Identify a variety of healthy practices and behaviors to maintain or improve personal, community, and environmental health. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given an activity that keeps them active. They are more engaged and get more work completed when rewards are provided to incentivize participation. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they have an incentive to work towards. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional tools to help them work on their communication skills and improve speech production. The color printer and ink will allow me to provide realistic visuals of daily objects used by the students when creating picture boards. These items will help students gain the confidence needed to participate in class discussions and interact with their peers. My hope is to be able to help my students have an amazing year, focus on meeting both their educational and communication needs, and make up for some of the lost time due to the ongoing pandemic.
