Students will be able to use these new books for both independent reading in school, and reading at home. They will also have access to more engaging, contemporary books that have characters resembling their own diverse backgrounds. Increasing their interest and access to reading will provide them more practice with language, vocabulary, and reading skills. When students visit the school library, they hope to find books that are new and interesting. Currently, our most popular books get checked out very quickly. Adding to our collection would allow more books to be in the hands of our students!
