My students ask for Dog Man, Captain Underpants, and other Dav Pilkey books EVERY DAY!! With almost 400 students and only 35 of his book in our collection, adding another set of book will make a huge difference. Our school supports not only learning to read, but fostering a child's LOVE of reading! Kids are excited to come to the library and find the books that thrill them and ignite their learning and imagination. We are a Title I school so many of our student's families do not have the extra income to buy books. Checking out books from our library is the main way they are exposed to self selected reading. As a Title I school, our book budget is also limited each year. Our school demographic is 62% ethnic minority. This project is to add 2 more copies of all of the Dog Man and Captain Underpants books, plus 1 more copy of all of the Big Dog Little Dog, Dragon, Dumb Bunnies, Ricky Ricotta and Super Diaper Baby books, for a total of 75 books! All of the students in our 1st-4th grade building will be able to check out these books from our school library.
