I will add 14 new books to my classroom library for students to use during independent and partner reading time. I also plan to use our new books for engaging read aloud lessons that support our curriculum. Each book was selected to reflect a variety of cultures and languages. These stories will help my students take pride in sharing their cultures while developing a love for reading. Seeing themselves inside books will not only activate their prior knowledge, but also it will help them make meaningful connections between their home language and school curriculum. Thank you for considering my project!
