Montessori education fosters individual learning and independence. To achieve individual growth in our students, the preparation of the environment is highly valued in the Montessori philosophy. Having basic community supplies naturally teaches the importance of sharing and caring for things in the community because they benefit everyone. Right now our community is lacking basic things like a pencil sharpener to share. Other materials on this list include organizers and storage shelves help teach organization and helps the student know that everything has a spot. When classrooms are organized, students have the ability to independently navigate their own learning and resources. Other materials asked for such as light filters and a mindfulness wood chimes, helps with the classroom environment as well as reducing anxiety and offering a calming community. "Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment" -Maria Montessori
