Using the BricQ LEGO set, students will follow patterns to build machines. My students do not have access to LEGO bricks at home, and I believe the BricQ LEGO set will be engaging and challenging learning tools. Students will use the LEGO bricks to build and engineer science projects such as simple machines and structures; and to model mathematics including fractions, multiplication, division, and comparing data. The third graders will also use LEGO bricks to build cooperation and self-regulation skills. In addition, they will be able to create free-form designs. Students will use the LEGO bricks during academic time as well as during brain breaks and free time.
