We missed out on a lot of math last year. Our biggest focus is trying to close their gaps in learning for math specifically. We want to create class shirts and as they work to master their math facts (depending on the student it could be addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division) they will get a new badge on their shirt that they design themselves and I put on. This addresses standard 3.OA.A.1, 3.OA.A.2 and ultimately 3.OA.C7 as they need these skills to perform higher level thinking math. Also, creating a love for reading that my former teachers instilled in me at this age is a huge focus. For my accelerated readers, I need high interest books for them to read so that they can be pushed further. This addresses standard RL.3.10 and RI.3.10. In addition, basic classroom supplies are needed because the school does not have many extras this year. These materials allow for engaging activities to be done and basic learning needs are met.
