The materials chosen will help my student's learning by allowing them to practice: reading, writing, and mathematical skills. Also to allow them to practice identifying their emotions and working to understand why they feel the way they do. My students love center time because they get to work together, and they get to choose which center to go to! My project is beneficial to my students being able to apply what they have learned in a hands-on environment. This includes practicing: sight words, syllable recognition, rhyming, patterns, naming numbers, addition, subtraction and their favorite, counting money!! These align with many of the kindergarten standards including the following: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.2 - Demonstrate understanding of spoken words, syllables, and sounds (phonemes). CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.K.3 - Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.CC.B.4 - Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
