A classroom rug will provide our class a place to meet and collaborate. Our class starts each day with a morning meeting where we check in with one another. These past two years have not been easy on my 2nd graders and they appreciate the opportunity to discuss how they feel each day, a classroom rug will be the perfect place to facilitate that! We also use that time and space to discuss making good decisions, communication skills, and self regulation. ME.2.2, ME.2.1 My students are also very creative and love any opportunity to use color in their work, having colored pencils and crayons will give them a chance to do this! Our class is working hard on becoming good writers, this year we will write informative pieces about animals- having good books for research will set them up for success! Writing 2.2
