My students use personal whiteboards and markers every day in math as well as during grammar exercises (examples include 5.NBT.A, 5.NBT.B, L.5.1). Whiteboards and markers are functional and essential tools in our classroom because it allows me to clearly see what they are learning and also allows the students to share and collaborate with each other.
Student collaboration is an essential piece of our classroom environment. This is critical especially with the type of year the students had during the pandemic. Now more than ever students require the interaction with each other and the socializing they were sorely lacking during school closures.
I have built a stage in our classroom that students use when presenting their work or sharing ideas, but often students speak very softly and it is difficult to hear what is being communicated, especially in a classroom of 35 students. The PA system will be an excellent addition to our stage and will give all students the opportunity to practice their speaking skills as well as allow the entire class to clearly hear what students are saying while they are speaking or reading aloud.
By donating to our project, you will greatly contribute to fostering a classroom environment of collaboration, sharing ideas, and healthy socializing.
