Music lessons and activities at Dodson Elementary are designed to help students achieve skills and concepts detailed in the Nevada Fine Arts Standards: Music K-8. Classroom instruments are a vital part of music instruction as students learn to read notation, create music and perform music. During the year and a half of COVID restrictions, playing our instruments was not an option. It is very exciting that students are once again able to learn, create, and perform music by using our classroom instruments. Unfortunately, students are having to sit on hard, very cool (often cold) tile flooring to access the instruments. A large area rug will greatly improve the learning environment, keep the students warmer, more comfortable, and focusing on skill and beautiful sounds!
