My project (Fired Up Ready To Learn!) will be using Agile and Scrum principles in the classroom to help student teams learn more successfully and develop themselves in a fun way. This approach will provide an environment where my students can learn how to collaborate, work together, be accountable, use their creativity, and solve problems. They will be encouraged to think outside the box, self-organize, and develop higher-level thinking, giving them an advantage over others who have not had the same opportunity. It will improve classroom engagement, enrichment, trust, and character development and evokes a higher depth of knowledge with the increased rigor required by the new Common Core standards for education in the United States. Scrum is a learning framework at its core, developed to solve the real difficulties of the Conceptual Age in which we live, with its empirical underpinnings of examine, adapt, and transparency.
