RF.1.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. The phonics games and materials will be used on a daily basis in our classroom. It will help students bridge the gap from skills and strategies not mastered during kindergarten. Many of my students still have not mastered the letters and sounds they so crucially need to become fluent readers. The whiteboards and dry erase markers will be used to work with phonemes and word family skills when we are on the carpet working on phonics. 1.OA.B Understand and apply properties of operations and the relationship between addition and subtraction. The flashcards and math games will make it fun to master addition and subtraction strategies and fluency.
