Roald Dahl wrote, “So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install, a lovely bookshelf on the wall.” The primary purpose of our Literacy Program is to get books in the hands of students with disabilities and thereby improve literacy levels, build confidence, and enable a love and excitement for reading. Projects will include “One School, One Book, Many Cultures” school-wide themes that reinforce positive behavior and confidence building as well as relate to real-life situations and possible solutions. Activities are aligned with evidence-based behavior modification practices and are intended to promote a positive school culture.
