The requested Cricut will fulfill a Covid related learning need in my classroom by allowing me to create a visually engaging classroom with resources that allow my students to be engaged and excited about what they are learning. By creating materials to enhance their learning, this will help my students to be invested in their learning. Anchor charts that surround their learning environment can be great visuals to help students retain information by having visually representations. For example, the students will be able to see visual representations that are created for ELA activities, such as the use of adjectives. Visually seeing colors and visuals can help students to remember the concepts. This is especially true with a few of my English language learners that need visual representations to better understand the English language. These resources will also help to create projects that the students will be able to keep as part of their memory books at the end of the year. These memory books will contain academic pieces of work that they have worked on throughout the year in reading, writing, mathematics, science and social studies. This year, students are getting to enjoy the hands on and engaging learning experiences while in a crafty elementary classroom that they have missed out on over the last year while distance learning. It is critical, especially at the elementary age, that these students find a joy in learning and have the opportunity to be innovative and creative. Many have not had many opportunities over the last year to incorporate academics with hands on creativity.
