These materials will help my students obtain a better understanding of math skills to apply to their everyday living and futures. Having hands-on materials can help students with severe intellectual disabilities relate and grasp math concepts, such as money and calendar activities. This is especially crucial for students with Down Syndrome and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Learning money and calendar skills allows an opportunity for students to become productive members of society - independently. Materials like these will make a difference in their learning because they will be engaged and have fun as well.
