These materials are an important part of an authentic arts education! Quality, diverse scripts, costumes, and props help young actors engage in a text and improve their storytelling, and these supplies will be used by ELA classes as well as extracurricular theater clubs. Students will use these materials to explore, create, and communicate collaboratively, and making these materials available will allow students more choice and expose them to all of the possibilities in the arts. I have seen hesitant, shy students come out of their shell while in costume or when working with a puppet, and students light up when they see themselves represented in a contemporary script. My greatest joy as a teacher is seeing a student develop a love for art and grow as an artist, and these materials will foster that.
