Students need to read especially since not having books in their hands for over a year while they had school online. Many students do not have books in their home. These books will be used in our class library so that students can check them out and read them. Students need practice reading in order to meet 3rd grade standards. The students in my class have a desire to read and they need books to fulfill that desire. We have worked hard to have a reading stamina, but students need books to be able to practice and improve their reading. RL.3.10 - By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poetry, at the high end of the grades 2-3 text complexity band independently and proficiently RF.3.4a - Read on-level text with purpose and understanding.
