My students are very used to seeing pictures or videos with the technology that's in their pockets. Let's go back to old school, with hands-on materials, such as a model of the plate tectonics and an Earth globe, that they can see and touch for themselves. These materials will help with NGSS standards: MS ESS3-1: Humans depend on Earth’s land, ocean, atmosphere, and biosphere for many different resources. MS ESS3-1: Minerals, freshwater, and biosphere resources are limited, and many are not renewable or replaceable over human lifetimes. These resources are distributed unevenly around the planet as a result of past geologic processes.
