When my students are over stimulated it is difficult for them to focus and complete their tasks. My students have goals to work more independently, for longer periods of time and with non preferred tasks. Having the opportunity to have sensory time and self regulate would help them with all of these skills. After Covid these students are not used to sitting for long periods of time and need extra input and feedback. Short periods of sensory feedback quickly de-escalate a child and keep them on task for longer periods of time.
