I would like to give my students performance opportunities right inside the music classroom with the karaoke machine. Students will experience the joy of singing and expressing themselves through music. One of the greatest benefits to singing is the amount of stress it releases. Since singing usually makes people happy, the level of stress in your body is automatically decreased. At the same time, endorphins are released and they help reduce both anxiety and stress. Karaoke improves singing ability by helping students practice and gives them the opportunity to improve their confidence which will help them become a better performer. It can be really hard to perform in front of other people, if you’re lacking confidence. That’s why a karaoke machine would be a great addition to our classroom. Students can practice for their performances in a relaxed and informal atmosphere making it a lot more easy to get up and perform in front of an audience. I have also requested two musicals that we can prepare for community performances, along with the laminator to protect the music and scripts. This equipment will benefit our show choir, our elementary students and our after school music clubs. Performing is a very important element of our music curriculum and standards.
