My requests will help the students reach their Speaking and Listening Goals such as CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.1 and CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.1.B. I am a self-contained teacher who teaches all subjects to all grades. If I listed all of the standards I try to hit on the daily, it would be a very long list. The kids are really excited to learn about Physical Science. We have been working on such topics as inertia, velocity, kinetic energy and potential energy as described in standard HS-PS3-2. Additionally, we are addressing trauma, mental illness, and coping skills in the classroom. Without addressing behavioral needs, academics do not compute when taught. My goal is to address the social-emotional learning in the classroom and help bring the students together to feel supported while still being able to teach academics.
