We have a school-wide incentive program called Catch-a Cash. When students demonstrate exceptional behavior or go above and beyond during a task, they are rewarded with Catch-a Cash. During Friday recess, students can spend their Catch-a Cash on rewards and prizes in our student-run store. Having fun, exciting items in our school store will motivate students to continue their good behavior. Being able to choose from an assortment of items will make our incentive program stronger. Students requested that the store offer walkie talkies with batteries, headbands, safety darts/dartboards, and hand-held fans. Our Catch-a Cash program addresses math standards in all grade levels (such as K.CC.A.1, K.CC.B.5, 1.NBT.A.1, 2.NBT.B.5, and 3.NBT.A.2) because students are counting tickets, adding totals, and determining change when using their Catch-a Cash to make a purchase. This program also provides Social Emotional Learning opportunities and positive reinforcement.
