Books in this project will help students engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners on grade-level topics and texts, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly. It will help them to refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text. Students will learn to describe the relationship between health behaviors and physical, mental, emotional, and social health (self-esteem, stress, sadness, sleepiness). My students will benefit from these standards in and outside of the classroom.
