The book bins that I have asked for will be used to promote reading in the classroom, as students will fill their bins with books from our classroom library. With distance learning last year, many of my students have not held a book in their hands since the last time they were in a classroom. The TIME Magazine articles will be used to integrate multiple reading and social studies standards, as well as focus on informational text--which many students have minimal experience with. The rug will be used to create a welcoming classroom environment, helping with social-emotional learning. Students will be able to gather together in a designated area.
