It will give them more choice over their independent reading books. Many of my students are reading well below grade level and there are only so many books that are of high interest while being at a lower grade level. It is important that they have the same choices that a regular education student would have. We need to encourage struggling readers to read more so that they can become more independent. As a teacher, I feel that the biggest way I can help my students is by instilling a love of reading!
