As I teach AP Courses, I utilize the College Board Learning Targets for planning instruction, but my goal is to support my students in PBL with the tools to be creative. A specific item in my project that will help students learn a specific standard would be the Play-Doh. My AP Psychology students make Play-doh brains to master Learning Target 2.I - Describe the nervous system and its subdivisions and functions in the brain. By allowing my students to learn to use tools and technology like the Cricut Maker for their projects and presentations, I believe I am helping to prepare them for College and Career Readiness, while encouraging 21st Century Skills. A color printer would be incredibly helpful for my AP Government students when studying polls and data gathering methods, as well as in preparation for the Quantitative FRQ on the AP Exam. Printing in color would also expand the types of study guides I would be able to offer AP Psychology students for diagrams of the brain, or for the anatomy of the eye and ear. Small classroom tools like having an extra stapler here and there, or a label makers to promote organization in the classroom, would be beneficial for overall workflow. Hand sanitizer of course is a MUST in the era of pandemic teaching, and will enable us to have more peace of mind in regards to our health and safety in the classroom. Last but not least, adding an extra white board to my classroom will allow for a designated space for reminders and deadlines for my AP Government Seniors. This will help them keep track of all of their application and scholarship deadlines, as well as milestones for graduation.
