These materials will make a difference in my students’ learning because it will allow them to explore materials using a hands on approach while also allowing them to make connections which can provide a deeper understanding of STEM concepts. Additionally, these resources will allow children to potentially accomplish various social-emotional milestones such as perseverance, cooperation, and turn taking. Working with students in an at-risk community, opportunities to explore materials and the various ways things work can potentially be the motivating factor to propel them to want to become Scientist, Doctors, Engineers, and more! Through trial and error, perseverance, and cooperation, these students would have the opportunity to truly believe in their ability to accomplish what they may have once believed was impossible.
