A new tablet will enhance student learning in my classroom by enabling live interaction with digital math tools. The tablet would be utilized in teaching to demonstrate whole-class through a projector and available for use by students (individually or in a small group) for deeper exploration. As we continue to move further into the digital age, many math standards include the use of digital math tools. Geometry congruence standards HS.G.CO.A.2 and HS.G.CO.D.12 both specifically mention using geometric software. These standards are met when students are able to explore and construct geometric constructs in a digital format. Digital math tools are a powerful way for students to experience first-hand concepts in action. The ability to make changes and visually see those changes in real-time is not only possible but an expectation. Without increased access to technology and devices, students will continue to miss out on critical learning experiences.
