This laptop will help my students improve their knowledge of all letter-sound correspondences, syllabication patterns, and morphology (e.g., roots and affixes) to read accurately unfamiliar multisyllabic words in context and out of context. Due to COVID, my students left in-person learning in second grade and have low phonics recognition. It will also help my students know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words. Lastly, this laptop will help my students read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension. Their fluency is low from experiencing distance learning.
