Right now, the kids are learning music through mostly singing. While some of my kids love to sing, others dread it so much. My hope is that, through the use of instrumental music, every child gets a chance to enjoy music making! For example, my student L loves music class. She loves to learn about anything music related. However, she hates to sing in front of others, even if the singing is in a group setting. When I gave her the chance to play the piano instead, she took to that instrument so quickly! Now, she takes private piano lessons at home and her mom is stoked about her music journey. My hope is that I can create more opportunities for students like L to find ways to love music class and music making through a wider variety of music playing.
