The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used everyday by every one of my students to engage them in reading and math lessons. Last year, my students didn't get to experience the joy of searching through a classroom library for a book that piqued their interest. The books I am requesting will ensure my students have a variety of books to choose from and read independently at their just right reading level. When our library has a variety of books at each level, it will ensure my students have the opportunity to make the growth that is needed after a year of learning virtually due to the pandemic. It will also help them to master the standard RL.1.10 to read prose and poetry of appropriate complexity for grade 1. The math material I am requesting will be beneficial to all my students, especially my kinesthetic learners. After a year of learning virtually, my students crave hands-on experiences. The rekenreks will be used with the whiteboards to give my students the opportunity to solve and master a variety of math problems.
