Students in my astronomy classes will be able to utilize these technology resources in order to dive deeper into learning about space using the latest resources such as the NASA.org website in order to gain a better understanding of the phenomena that happens inside and outside of our solar system on a daily basis. With the use of these laptops, students will be able to complete presentations on planets, constellations, and galaxies, as well as will be able to gain insight into the life cycles of stars and how our universe came to be. Due to Covid-related issues that the students in my astronomy classes have faced, they are unable to access the needed technology in order to allow for a more in-depth learning experience when it comes to astronomy. Many of them already come from low income backgrounds and the impact that Covid has had on their families has greatly impeded their ability to attain usable technology such as laptops. "The purpose of science education is to provide students with positive learning experiences enhanced over time by a deeper understanding of science content and the provision of tools students need in order to research, predict, hypothesize, investigate, analyze, conclude, and start the process all over." The above quote is from the Nevada Academic Content Standards website. I believe that this statement encompasses the purpose behind our project; that the inclusion of technology such as laptop computers would be one of the best tools my students would be able to use in order to research, predict, hypothesize, investigate, analyze, and conclude varying topics regarding space and it's exploration.
