These supplies will help promote Nevada Academic Content Standards and fulfill COVID-related learning by support students daily needs. These supplies make learning equitable across all students because every student will have what they need to participate in daily lessons. For example, when students study ELA RL or RI 6., cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, they are required to highlight the text as we read. This is process helps students identify accurate textual evidence to use for later assignments. Currently in our classroom, most of the highlighters dried up and students typically do not have their own with them. Our school is a Title I school that is located in a low income area, which explains why many students show up to school without the supplies they are required to have. These supplies will benefit students social and emotional well being because they will not be embarrassed, ashamed, or upset about asking for supplies when necessary. Occasionally, I have to ask around the room to see if any one has extra supplies if I run out. This donors choose is to try to avoid that situation in the future.
