In our Family and Consumer Science class, we have a Child Development Unit where we usually have "Flour Babies". Over the years it becomes expensive and wasteful getting new bags of flour every trimester and every year. I found a way to take a soft bodied baby doll and cut it open and put 5 lbs. of rice inside and sew it back up and.... eureka! A reusable "Flour Baby" or "Rice Baby in this case. By having these dolls, it will allow students to have a feel for carrying a weighted baby, being responsible for a babysitter, as well as learning about babysitting, baby first aide, and genetics.
