Since returning to the building I am trying to engage my students as much as possible. This project will enhance my students' educational experience because they will be able to actively engage with a new book! My students will benefit directly as a result of being able to have a tangible resource to connect with! My students will be able to increase their reading levels by practicing reading literacy skills and standards. As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, my students need something they can relate to. The main characters from "The War that Saved My Life" struggle through hardships that they, in the end, overcome! This project will help them to build an understanding that no matter what, the circumstances are, they can triumph through those hard times! Also, the materials I am requesting, new books, highlighters, mechanical pencils, and pens will nurture my students' interests in reading and writing. My hope is that these new materials will make a qualitative difference in the (culture/climate/instruction) in my classroom and create a group of lifelong learners!
