Covid rocked education as we know it. Who would have guessed that a pandemic would rise out of nowhere? Now, we find ourselves two years into it, and we are just starting to see the results on the thousands of students who have returned to class after being quarantined at home for so long. With this return educators across the world are trying to learn and understand the many deficiencies this pandemic has caused. With the rise in casualties, and the rise in numbers, there has also been a rise in the anxiety levels in both adults, and children. These anxieties have been caused either by direct loss of loved ones, or the loss of financial securities in the home. Help me ease some of these anxieties. These anxiety toys will bring much needed calm to so many students that find themselves unable to relax enough to focus. Help me provide these wonderful students with the most basic of supplies like calculators and water cups (water fountains are closed) they need to be successful on a daily bases. Let's help show these families that we hear them, that we understand how difficult it is in our recent climate, and that YES we have a pencil for their child. That we can reward their student with a cute sticker that says "You are awesome". To be able to show them that we, as educators, see them! That we hear them, and that we care about them. My students are in the sixth grade and receive special education services at a STEM based charter school located in Henderson Nevada with over 30% coming from lower socioeconomic households. Help me create a great learning environment.
