My goal of this Donors Choose is to help bring multicultural education to the classroom year-round. We don't need to wait until February to celebrate Black History Month. We don't need to wait because the time is now for these students and they deserve to see that they belong in the world right now. With the resources in my cart, not only would this help me organize this content, they'd be able to be read stories that include characters that look like them. Every story does not include the way every child looks at the school and I would love to show them that they have books in which they exist as well. I also want students to see the power in their choices. Having books that explore this can help students see that reciprocating the right actions can lead them towards the right path in life. With the items in my cart, I'm able to show them this through books, figures, and items that can be used around the classroom.
