Students will have the opportunity to use the stickies, dry erase board, and easel pads to show how they are understanding the skills and concepts being taught. They will write their examples with numbers, symbols, and diagrams as well as explain in complete sentences. Other students will be able to view their classmate understanding and provide feedback. If students are up and around the room with these materials they can teach their classmates and understand more by doing. This gives students the power of their own learning. They will become the expert learning and as the teacher I will guide them through their understanding through their conceptual understandings. We will use this for mathematical concepts as well as ELA. There is no limit to the learning that can take place when the students get to show their understanding in different ways.
