Students will learn about the solar system and construct a 3d example. They will also create a 3d model of mitosis in genetics. The use of 3d models in my classes helps students capture the meaning of state standards. In addition, students have a chance to compare their models with other student models and then have discussions on them. There is a part of the class where we have an open forum where students tell the class why they developed their version of the solar system and the evidence to back their claim.
