Since students are wearing masks we definitely need a good audio enhancing system in our classroom. A lot of our learning resources are online, students need to hear the text being read and to be able to answer questions on it. For example, we read The Night of the Spadefoot Toads (an 18 chapter book) when students would either take turns to read or listen to it on their Chromebooks. Hence the need to keep their devices charged in an orderly and easy manner (Chromebook Charging cart). To create an effective learning environment students need to listen to the teacher's instructions to be able to effectively complete all assignments. For example- especially when we were learning the Decimal Place Value, the teacher's microphone was not working, and she has to wear a mask at all times. It's at times like these that the need for a good sound system is felt the most! It would be great if our technology items got funded so students could easily recharge their Chromebooks, and be able to listen to texts we read for learning purposes, and be able to easily hear the teacher's instructions. Technology is the way to go in today's world, and virtual learning is a part of our curriculum and hence the need for High Tech 5th Grade!
