We at Pioneer Academy want to offer our students a safe place hang out after school, get exercise without having to worry about finding the way to cover the cost out of their own pockets to join roller skating club. This a fun way to mingle safely with their peers, grow relationships and gain healthy habits with a nontraditional way. The Nevada Priorities for COVID-19 response and recovery included in my project: 1) Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students to be able to participate in an extracurricular activity. By providing students with their own skates they are attend. 2) Social and emotional support of students in response to the effects of COVID, by being able to host a place for students to not only exercise their bodies, but also let off some steam participating in a sport with their peers and building positive relationships with one another. 3) Support of parents, families, and communities by making sure any of our students who want to join have the opportunity even if they have restrictions due to financial hardships. We want to make sure that there are no walls standing between healthy living and positive choices due to lack of ability to provide equipment. If we provide the equipment up front, so there will not be any concerns or added burden for families.
