Through the use of targeted reading instruction, conferencing with students, and data collection, we can rebuild not only students' reading abilities and confidence, but also their self-confidence and emotional well-being. This will help students during face-to-face learning, as well as during distance learning. The technology will be used to help the students access the materials they need. When working one on one with a student, and iPad is beneficial to their learning. They are able to pick their own text they want to read aloud to me, and as a team we can work on their reading fluency, they are able to paraphrase what is in the text and can see pictures on their own. Other students in the classroom would have the same benefit when it came their time to use the iPad. Standards SL 4.2: Paraphrase portions of a text read aloud or information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally. W.5.9: Draw evidence from literary or informational texts to support analysis, reflection, and research.
