My students need a shared space that they can just "be" and either think, read, or talk with other students. These chairs will give them a perfect comfy spot to sit and reflect on a class project, read quietly, or have a discussion with another student. The large post-its will be awesome for the students to create and show what they know and/or what their responses are to a reading or video. The multicultural markers and colored pencils will allow the students to become "seen," which regular markers and colored pencils will not. The large post-its can be posted on the walls to share with a partner or to show student work. The small post-its will be used for "exit tickets" where they will tell what they learned or just answer a quick question. These tickets will be posted on the classroom door on the way out after class. By donating to this project, you will help my students increase their discourse with one another and give them a sense of belonging. By having this shared space and these materials to create authentic work, my students will flourish in their speaking and listening skills while learning about and appreciating others.
