As a resource teacher I try to incorporate all learning styles for my students to learn. A hands-on sensory approach is a great way to get students engaged and excited throughout their learning. With the Kindergarten standard of K.CC Counting and Cardinality K.CC.A Know number names and the count sequence K.CC.A.1 Count to 100 by ones and by tens and the first grade standard of 1.NBT.A Extend the counting sequence 1.NBT.A.1 Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral the activities I would like funded in my project will definitely help my students achieve these standards. With the activities being more hands-on, I feel, will keep the students more engaged and have fun learning. With the kindergarten standard of L.K Language and L.K.2.c Write a letter or letters for most consonant and short-vowel sounds (phonemes)Conventions of Standard English L.K.1 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking. L.K.1.a Print many upper- and lowercase letters-my students will gain the knowledge they need to master these standards as they are participating and learning through the use of the activities I would like funded in my project. Also, all the activities are great for fine motor skills as well as hand eye coordination.
