The TI-Nspire graphing calculator's innovative design and capabilities will help my students understand complex mathematical concepts through its intuitive, handheld platform. This is extremely helpful for so many students who are in my advanced mathematics classes but have numerous knowledge gaps due to lost in-class instruction time over the past 18 months. Although there are many amazing online resources for students to access to help them conceptually understand the new math concepts being taught, many of my students lack the needed technology and internet access at home. Having such a powerful, handheld device such as the Nspire calculator will allow students the opportunity to reinforce their in-class instruction while at home, regardless of access to a computer or the internet. The Nspire will be especially useful when discussing standards such as modeling with mathematics and interpreting key features of functions that model relationships between two quantities (NV.CC.F.: F-IF.4., F-BF.3., MP-4).
