These calculators will help my students by creating a consistent mathematics workflow. The Numworks calculator has a free Android and iOS app that students can access at home (a web app as well). This will allow students to take what they have learned in the classroom and continue at home without the need to learn the syntax requirements of a different calculator. Students will also help be able to gain proficiency in calculator use for high stakes testing such as ACT or SAT. Our school generally has enough calculators to get by, but they are outdated and inconsistent across classrooms and subject areas. Our math department wants to build a consistent, modern calculator collection so that student can learn mathematics without learning a new calculator based on which teacher they have, or what subject they are in. Calculators can have major differences in key locations, menu options, and even in formatting of expressions. We want to eliminate the distractions and teach high quality mathematics.
