Reading is a fundamental skill that can be fun to learn (see what I did there...) I have selected specific books to help students understand what reading is and how to enjoy it. First grade is all about sounds! Some of these books focus on a specific phonics skill; others are just about enjoying an entertaining and beautiful book. Reading and writing are creative. I have also asked for some supplies to help restock my cupboards. These materials will go directly to the students and will be used for basics (pencils) and the more in-depth creative activities (art paper)
