Students conduct research projects to learn about the annual migration of monarch butterflies and its cultural significance in the country of Mexico. Standard: Students will describe major holidays and celebrations of the Spanish-speaking world. Standard: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and analyze its development over the course of the text, including its relationship to the characters, setting, and plot; provide an objective summary of the text. Students' learning will be enhanced by visuals and examples of the cultural traditions of Spanish speaking countries. Students' learning will be enhanced by reading narratives written by diverse authors.
